I think your most important point, and one that is very often missed, is that the Saudi leadership (as portrayed by themselves) are not secure in their own country. Part of the problem with American perception or for that matter, foreign policy is that historical context is ignored in favor of political expediency. The former is bound by ignorance or just laziness and the latter by agendas that are re-drawn every decade or so. Americans tend to perceive the world within their own lifetime -- not beyond. By Allah i say to you that when YOU will stand infront of your creator on the day of judgement , you will not be able to explain your words. Think deep and think well my friend.
