Tony;

Only have a minute, but appreciate the historical insight. I think your most important point, and one that is very often missed, is that the Saudi leadership (as portrayed by themselves) are not secure in their own country. Part of the problem with American perception or for that matter, foreign policy is that historical context is ignored in favor of political expediency. The former is bound by ignorance or just laziness and the latter by agendas that are re-drawn every decade or so. Americans tend to perceive the world within their own lifetime -- not beyond. And we do hold some pretty serious grudges. Ignornance and resentment make for bad foriegn policy on any level.

Thanks

Salaam Alakoom Zain. I really don't understand your comment very well. Do I understand Islaam very well or not at all?
During the Industrial Revolution in England factory workers toiled long hours 7 days a week in dangerous factories, for tiny ammounts of money. The factory owners encouraged religion, and promoted the idea that the workers would get their rewards in heaven. It was known as, "Pie in the Sky".
In no country in the Moslem world do fundemental, Salafist Muslims rule. The generally corrupted Monarchies or Presidents are very happy with the Salafist movement, it takes the focus off them for the poor conditions in almost all of these lands. If the Salafists become too troublesome, they are wiped out, as happened in Syria by the Allawhites who run the country.

O you son of ADAM (alihaye salam) ! Speak very very carefully as your words are recorded By your creator .it is for u to decide whether you are saying because you havent studied islam or you really knw it by Heart. By Allah i say to you that when YOU will stand infront of your creator on the day of judgement , you will not be able to explain your words.
Think deep and think well my friend. Time will pass by and the religion of truth will stand leaving every thing behind as was done in the time of MOSES( alihaye salam) ,DAWOOD/DAVID (alihaye salam),IESSAH/JESUS(alihaye salam) and as will be agian done in the time of Mohammad (Sallalahoo alihi wasalam)...

How do u explain a life which has no means no reason to be created.....money..money...money ...it that what this life is all about.....do u not see that you are in a position to write read and spend money while you could have been a begger ,,whats your effort in it my friend.....
Dou u know in islam the poor people will enter paradise 500 years before the rich on the day of judgement....
im giving you a link ..read the book with a open mind ..search within ur soul for peace ....try to find your creator (P.S A true muslim if he breaks his heart and doesnot breaks the law of his Creator , is close with the Creator of heaven and earth beyond mine and urs imajination...)
Be ware of Satin (ibleeess) for he is your enemy and he will enter hatred in our heart for me but be ware as it was the thing which lead him to his destruction.....
Go to the site khanqah .org and download the english book ...The life of piety and read it ..its a very short book...... written by an extremist muslim(extremist in love, kindeness,foregiving,peace..etc) (hahahha).. if that person really knows his Creator than for you to find ur Creator is just one step away......
